Day 1: Arrive in Casablanca

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Mohammed V International Airport, drive to the city center with the possibility to visit the Hassan II Mosque depending on the time of your arrival. Otherwise, we can make our visit to the masterpiece of Hassan II Mosque in the next day.

Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Chefchaouen

Today, we may want to start our tour of the magical Hassan II Mosque, which is the 3rd largest mosque in the Islamic World & is truly an Islamic masterpiece of architecture. Drive through the Highway to the administrative capital of Rabat. Rabat is home of the king and the royal family, and has been the official capital of Morocco since 1912. We will have our tour of this city from the impressive Oudayas Kasbah that goes back to the 11th century when the Almoravid warriors decided to build a fortress by the Atlantic so that can be used as a starting point to organize attacks against the Spanish.

The Almohads demolished the whole site and rebuilt it from scratch in the 12th century. The Kasbah offers panoramic views of the ever-flowing Bou Regreg River, the city of Sale and the Atlantic Ocean. Stretch your legs in the tranquil streets while sampling the preserved culture. Visit the Hassan II Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum before heading north to Chefchaouen through the fertile plain of el-Gharb & Ouazzane.

Day 3: Explore Chefchaouen

Today, you’ll spend most of the day exploring the best of Chefchaouen on your own as it’s easy navigate without the need of a tour guide’s services. The best way is to get lost in the blue-painted streets of the charming Chefchaouen as if you are in an open museum of art. You may want to start your tour of the Medina by the Utta Hammam Square with its lined cafes and restaurant. Visit the nearby Kasbah (fortress) the oldest building in Chefchaouen and it’s the main reason why the whole city has emerged from the 15th century when Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid decided to fight against the Portuguese and Spanish invaders.

Stretch your legs within the intricate and blue-painted alleyways of the Medina that leads to the Ras el-Ma Spring. The views from here are impressive as well as it’s a truly cultural hub with women washing clothes and carpets. You may want to have a soft hike uphill where you can have a complete panoramic view of the Chefchaouen Medina. In the evening, you want to have another tour around to sample the local cultural and the unique ambiance.

Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After having breakfast, you’ll continue on the track south to the cultural capital of Fes through the spectacular Rif Mountains. We will include a guided walking tour of the Roman Ruins of Volubilis as an opportunity to learn about the Roman Civilisation that settled in Morocco in the beginning of the first century. Continue on the track to the former imperial city of Meknes. This unique city was built by the late Sultan Moulay Ali Cherif in the 17th century.

Start your tour of the city from the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, which is one of the most beautiful gates in the world. Visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the Royal Granaries and Stables before continuing on the track to Fes, which we will reach in the evening.

Day 5: Explore Fes - Midelt

After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, you will start exploring this mysterious city of Fes with a local tour guide. You will visit the Royal Palace Gates for a picture then you will stop in a panoramic view of the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes), then pottery factory where craftsmanship talks loudly with the beautiful ceramics are being skillfully made by hand after that you will start the walking tour with your guide to the vibrant old Medina with its labyrinthine alleyways where you will visit the many hidden treasures that only the inhabitants of the place know about.

Fes served as the capital of Morocco for more than 350 years and is home to the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest operating university in the world,alleyways, museums, Koranic Schools, tanneries, Souks…after lunch you will drive to Midelt through Ifrane the Switzerland of Morocco and Azrou forest where you will see the Barbary Apes.

Day 6: Midelt - Explore Merzouga - Camel Ride

Today, our 15 days private desert tour from Casablanca to Marrakech will take us further south to Merzouga Desert of Erg Chebbi. Cross the High Atlas Mountains driving over the Tizi N’Tlghamt Pass, include a short break for a picture in the Ziz Gorge & the palm oasis of Ziz Valley before reaching the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi that stand like an ocean. Experience the camel ride while enjoying the beautiful view of the sunset.

Return to the desert camp where you’ll have dinner followed by time of entertainment. You may want to stretch your legs while watching the stars that illuminate the sky.

Day 7: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

Early wake up in the early morning, enjoy the miraculous view of the sunrise before returning to the camp for having a refreshing breakfast followed by a shower. Resume your journey to the Dades Valley through Erfoud, which is known for the minerals and fossils with numerous factories offering a visit to share their knowledge with visitors. Drive through the palm oasis of Tinjdad to the Todra Gorge (Canyon). Stretch your legs while enjoying the breathtaking views.

After lunch, you’ll continue on the track to the lush Dades Valley, which we will reach in the late afternoon.

Day 8: Dades Valley - Nomad Caves - Skoura - Ouarzazate

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll drive in the heart of the Atlas Mountains with lush valleys while including a visit to a nomad family that still lives in a cave. It’s an opportunity to learn about their unique style of life and how they have been enduring the toughness of nature. Drive through the Kelaat Mgouna, the capital of Roses, then the palm oasis of Soura before arriving in Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) in the late afternoon.

Day 9: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

Today, you’ll drive to Marrakech before including a visit to the impressive Ait Benhaddou Village. It consists of many Kasbahs (fortresses) turning into a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to the unique architecture and the role it played in securing the caravans that used to cross the Sahara Desert from Marrakech. Ait Benhaddou has been used as a backdrop for shooting numerous Hollywood Movies including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Prince of Persia and many others.

Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains with a nice drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260) while including many short breaks for taking pictures. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 10: Guided Tour of Marrakech

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll spend the day exploring what Marrakech has to offer with a local private tour guide who knows the city like the back of his/her hand. Drive through the Ville Nouvelle (Gueliz) that was built by the French when Morocco was a French Protectorate from 1912 to 1956. Visit the Saint Laurent’s’ Majorelle Gardens, which is a small oasis on earth with countless exotic plants brought from all over the world, the colors, the building & even the museum are unique to this place.

Drive back to the Medina of Marrakech where you’ll include a short break by the Koutoubia Mosque. The Mosque is a landmark of Marrakech and can be seen from different directions dating back to the 12th century. Visit the 15th century Saadian Tombs, then meander around the intricate alleyways leading to the Bahia Palace through the Mekkah (former Jewish Quarter).

Now, it’s time explore the vibrant Souks of Marrakech that are organized into sections according to specialty. You’ll be amazed by the countless shops, colors, restaurants, Fondouks & Riads. You’ll end up in the Jemaa El Fna Square, which is the focal point of Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech - Essaouira

Today, you’ll head west to the Atlantic Coastline where Essaouira is your ultimate destination. Essaouira was once a Portuguese stronghold having the name of Mogador or the windy city. Essaouira is a tranquil but mysterious, and easy to navigate without the need of a tour guide’s services. The main attraction are the sandy beach that offers great opportunities for surfing and kite surfing, the traditional harbour, the Medina with its bastions and vibrant life.

You can ignore making a visit to the local traditional fish market and taste the delicious grilled fish of the city. You may want to stretch legs by the sandy beach while enjoying the beautiful views.

Day 12: Free Day To Explore Essaouira

You’ll spend the day on your own navigating the city and learning about its history being once an attraction for the hippies and still to this day. Essaouira is known for the International Festival of the Gnawa Music that takes place every June and attracts people from all over the world.

Day 13: Essaouira - Marrakech

Today, we will have a late drive from Essaouira to Marrakech. In the evening, you may want to visit the Jemaa el-Fna Square that turns into a carnival filled with musicians, storytellers, snake charmers, acrobats, magicians, fortune tellers….along with the food stalls that sell Moroccan delicacies.

Day 14: Free Day in Marrakech

You’ll have another day on your own to fully absorb the magic of Marrakech. You may want to have a scrub in a Hammam, Massage, Spa Treatment, take a cooking class, meander around the Medina to get some souvenirs or just stay in your accommodation by the pool.

Day 15: Airport Transfer

After breakfast, we will drive to the International Airport of Marrakech or Casablanca based on your time flights. Assistance with luggage and time to see Good bye hoping you are back home with embedded memories of Morocco.

What's the best way to fly to/from Morocco?

Do I need a Visa to enter Morocco?

For citizens of many countries, you do not need a visa to enter Morocco. You will receive an entry stamp in your passport upon arrival.

You do not need to apply for a tourist visa for the Morocco Tour if you are a citizen of the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain or any of the other countries listed here.

You will need a passport that is valid for six months beyond your stay and a round-trip airline ticket. The passport must have at least one blank page.

How do exchange money in Morocco?

If you have US dollars, Euros, or British Pounds, you can exchange money at an exchange bureau upon arrival at the airport or at your hotel but the rate won’t be quite as good as exchange bureaus we’ll find elsewhere. Our guide can help find the best place to exchange your cash for local currency.

There is often a problem making a change in Morocco, and it can be difficult to pay with large banknotes, so be sure to get smaller denomination banknotes (10s and 20s) as this will make your life easier when paying for inexpensive items such as drinks and souvenirs.

Will we bring luggage to the Sahara Desert?

Yes. We will be spending just one or two nights maximum in the Sahara and while we will be traveling to the tented camp via camel (optional), the luggage will be taken via vehicle or you can securely lock it in the hotel/Riad in charge of managing the desert camp.

Will we have power in the tents at the luxury camp in the Sahara?
