Itinerary

Day 1: Chefchaouen - Ouazzane - Fes

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll head south to the spiritual city of Fes with an interesting drive through the spectacular Rif Mountains. Upon arrival to Fes, you’ll have a guided tour of this mysterious city with a local private tour guide. You’ll begin your guided tour of Fes from the Royal Palace where you can take pictures by its golden gates, stretch your legs in the vibrant former Mellah (Jewish Quarter) before getting inside the countless alleyways of the Fes el-Bali that are shrouded in mystery.

You’ll have the chance to explore this UNESCO listed & largest car-free district worldwide with its intricate streets, lined cafes, vibrant Souks and much more. Visit the Chouara Tanneries, Koranic Schools including the Qarawiyyin University, which is the oldest formal university in the world…In the late afternoon, we will escort you to your accommodation.

Day 2: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga

Today, our 6 days tour from Chefchaouen to Marrakech via Merzouga will take us to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi. En route, you’ll include a short break in the charming city of Ifrane with its famous ski resorts, then in the UNESCO preserved cedar forest that hosts a colony of Barbary Apes. After having lunch in Zaida or Midelt, we will continue on the track further south crossing the High Atlas Mountains while including a short break in the palm-dotted Ziz Valley before arriving in the Desert in the late afternoon.

You’ll spend the night in a comfortable Riad by the feet of the sand dunes.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga Desert Area & Camel Trek

After having breakfast in your Riad, you’ll spend most of the day exploring what the desert area has to offer. You’ll learn about the sophisticated system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”, then drive through the Merzouga center before reaching the Khamlia Village. This village is predominantly resided by “Black Africans” who were brought as slaves many centuries ago and are known for the spiritual music of Gnawa, which they perform to guest visitors.

Have a complete tour around the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, you’ll have the chance to visit a nomad family that lives in the tent offering opportunities to learn about their unique style of life. In the late afternoon, you’ll have a camel ride experience while enjoying the breathtaking views of the sunset. Have dinner in our luxury tented restaurant or under the stars…

Day 4: Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

 Early wake up in the morning, attend the majestic view of the sunrise atop the sand dunes before returning to the camp where you will have a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight, take a shower and get ready for resuming our expedition. You’ll head to the lush Dades Valley through Erfoud, which is known for the excavation of fossils and minerals. Drive through the palm oasis of Tinjdad to the Todra Gorge (Canyon) where you can stretch your legs while enjoying the miraculous views. After lunch, we will continue on the track to the Dades Valley where you’ll spend the night.

Day 5: Dades Valley - Nomad Cave - Valley of Roses - Ouarzazate

 After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in the Dades Valley, we will take a different road that is filled with adventures. Visit the nomad family that still live in the cave and learn how they have been enduring the harshness of nature. Drive through the lush valleys of Bou Tghrar before joining the main road in the Valley of Roses where we may want to include a short break so that you can learn about this unique produce. Continue our drive through Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate (Hollywoof of Africa) in the late afternoon where you’ll spend your 5th night.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

 Today, we will drive to Marrakech through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains while including a guided walking tour of the dramatic & UNESCO listed Ait Benhaddou Village. The village consists of numerous Kasbahs (fortresses) – A striking architecture of the southeastern part of Morocco. Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) while enjoying the breathtaking views before reaching Marrakech in the late afternoon.

For citizens of many countries, you do not need a visa to enter Morocco. You will receive an entry stamp in your passport upon arrival.

You do not need to apply for a tourist visa for the Morocco Tour if you are a citizen of the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain or any of the other countries listed here.

You will need a passport that is valid for six months beyond your stay and a round-trip airline ticket. The passport must have at least one blank page.

If you have US dollars, Euros, or British Pounds, you can exchange money at an exchange bureau upon arrival at the airport or at your hotel but the rate won’t be quite as good as exchange bureaus we’ll find elsewhere. Our guide can help find the best place to exchange your cash for local currency.

There is often a problem making a change in Morocco, and it can be difficult to pay with large banknotes, so be sure to get smaller denomination banknotes (10s and 20s) as this will make your life easier when paying for inexpensive items such as drinks and souvenirs.

Yes. We will be spending just one or two nights maximum in the Sahara and while we will be traveling to the tented camp via camel (optional), the luggage will be taken via vehicle or you can securely lock it in the hotel/Riad in charge of managing the desert camp.
