Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley

We will pick you up at around 8 am, then drive to Dades Gorges through The High Atlas Mountains and Tizi-n-Tichka pass. The breathtaking small “Berber” Amazigh villages scattering along the edge of the mountains offer a unique opportunity to sample the local lifestyle even from afar. The drive afterwards will lead us to Ait Ben Haddou Village where you can make a visit to this dramatic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ait Benhaddou has been used as a backdrop for filming many famous movies like Hidalgo, Sahara , Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia…

After having lunch, we will continue on the track to Dades Valley through Ouarzazate  “Hollywood of Africa“, the palm-dotted oasis of Skoura before taking the road of one thousand Kasbahs  leading us to the Kelaat M’gouna. This valley grows roses from which produces like rose water, soap from roses, cosmetics and much more are the main products of the area. We will arrive to the Dades Valley in the evening where you can chill out & have a nice dinner to freshen up for the next day.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Merzouga & Camel Ride

After breakfast in your hotel/Riad, Our Morocco Desert Tour from Marrakech will take us from the lush Dades Gorges/Valley to Merzouga Sahara desert through Todra Gorges where you will have the opportunity to stretch your legs, take some pictures & enjoy the majestic views of this outstanding canyons. We will resume our journey to Erfoud, the capital of Fossils and  Dates. We will make a visit to the Mineral Fossils factory if you are interested. Drive to our hotel in Merzouga desert by the edge of the sand dune field of Erg Chebbi where we will get prepared for an exotic camel ride through the golden sand dunes. The view of the sunset atop the sand dune is miraculous & it’s definitely a lifetime experience to treasure forever.

Day 3: Merzouga - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Early wake in the morning, you may want to climb up the sand dune to attend the majestic view of the sunrise. Get back to the hotel where you will take a shower, have breakfast and start your long trip back to Marrakech through Alnif, Draa Valley and Nkob or Agdz where you will have lunch. We will arrive to Marrakech in the evening.

Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Mohammed V International Airport, then drive to the city center of this giant city of Casablanca with its high skyscrapers turing into the economic capital of Morocco. You’ll possibly, depending on your flights arrival time, schedule a guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque, which is the focal point and the landmark of the city. The Mosque is the third largest religious building in the Islamic World & is an actual masterpiece of architecture depicting the unique Moroccan & Andalusian craftsmanship. We’ll take the highway to the adjacent city of Rabat where you’ll spend your first night.

Day 2: Explore Rabat - Chefchaouen

After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, you’ll explore the landmarks of Rabat (the administrative capital & home of the king and the royal family) including the dramatic Oudayas Kasbah (fortress) that was initially constructed by the Almoravids in the 11th century before it was completely demolished and rebuilt by the Almohad Conquerors in the 12th century. The Kasbah overlooks the adjacent city of Sale, the Atlantic Ocean & the everflowing Bou Regreg River. Visit the famous Hassan II Tower, which is the landmark of Rabat going back to the 12th century as a great project to constructing the largest mosque in the Islamic World, but the Sultan Yacoub El-Mansour passed away and the whole project did not come to life.

You’ll visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum, which is a striking example of the Moorish Architecture and where the grandfather, father and uncle of the current king Mohammed VI are buried. You’ll continue on the track further north to Chefchaouen through the Souk El-Arbaa, Ouazzane where you may want to have a short break before reaching Chefchaouen in the late afternoon. 

Day 3: Explore Chefchaouen

Today, you’ll spend most of the day exploring what this charming city of Chefchaouen has to offer with beautiful streets & doors that are primarily painted in blue-hued color. You may want to start your tour of Chefchaouen from the famous Utta El-Hammam Square, which is located in the heart of the Medina with its lined cafes that overlook the Kasbah (fortress) and the Mosque. You may include a visit to the Kasbah that goes back to the 15th century when Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid constructed this fortress to fight the Spanish & the Portuguese Invaders. 

Meander around the intricate alleyways losing yourself in the immense beauty of its blue-painted houses, doors and windows. You’ll arrive in the Ras El-Ma Spring that offers stunning views along with the vibrant authentic style of life with women washing clothes and carpets and boys playing soccer in the field. You may want to further include a soft hike up to the mosque where you can get a full view of the Medina. In the evening, you can spend some time in one of the lined cafes in the Square while watching the passers-by and sampling the unique lifestyle.

Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you’ll head south to Fes driving through the spectacular Rif Mountains while including a visit to the Roman Ruins of Volubilis where you can have a guided tour with a local guide. You’ll learn about the Roman lifestyle when they settled in Morocco. Continue on the track further south to the Imperial city of Meknes, this unique city goes back to the 17th century when the late Sultan Moulay Ismail put the solid ground for the Alaouite Dynasty that is still ruling Morocco to this day. 

We’ll include a short break by the impressive Bab Mansour Gate with its geometric designs depicting the elaborate Moroccan Islamic Architecture. Stretch your legs in the vibrant El-Hedim Square and the olive market before driving through the High Walls of the Royal Palace. You’ll arrive at the Granaries & stables where the Sultan used to store grains & barley along with the stables where feeding and looking after the 12000 royal horses used to take place. Drive to Fes by the highway, which you’ll reach in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Explore Fes - Midelt

Today, you’ll spend the first half-day to explore the best of Fes with a local tour guide. Fes is the oldest Imperial city of Morocco dating back to the 7th century and is the spiritual capital of kingdom. You’ll start your guided tour of the city with a nice drive over the hill where you can get a complete panoramic view of the Fes el-Bali (Oldest Fes). Your guide will shed light on the history behind the construction of the city being the largest car-free urban district in the world and for this reason it has been listed by the UNESCO. Drive to Mellah (former Jewish Quarter) where you can take pictures by the golden gates of the Royal Palace. Stretch your legs by the former Jewish Market while learning about the lifestyle of the Jews and how they used to live in peaceful coexistence with Moroccan Muslims.

You’ll, then, have a guided walking tour of the Fes el-Bali with its thousands of intricate alleyways, lined cafes, bustling Souks that are organized into sections. Pass by the Koranic Schools and visit Museums along with the famous Chouara Tanneries. After lunch, you’ll drive further south through the charming city of Ifran that was listed as the second cleanest city in the world in 2015. Have another short break in the lush cedar forest of Azrou that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques that you may possibly see and even feed. Cross the Middle Atlas Mountains before reaching our hotel near the city of Midelt.

Day 6: Midelt - Explore Merzouga - Camel Ride

After breakfast in the riad we will start our private journey of the area. We will make the tour of the Dunes where the Rally Paris Dakar pass before , then we  visit the Berber nomads that live in their tent we will have tea with them to see how they live , after that we will drive to Khamlia village “the Gnawa people” originally slaves brought from Sudan and Mali  to experience their music and lifestyle , Lunch will be in this village if you want to eat Pizza, after that we will drive back to our Hotel to prepare our self and to be ready to take our Camels to spend the night in the Camp.

Day 7: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

Early in the morning your camel man will wake you up to watch Surise in the Dunes. Afterwards you will go  back by Camels to the Hotel where you will shower and eat breakfast and start our trip towards Dades Valley via small Berber village, Lunch will be in Touroug then we will drive to Todra Gorges  the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco which is famous for trekking and Climbing, 

Day 8: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

After breakfast in your Hotel, we will start  our private morocco tours by travelling through to Ouarzazate Via Kelaat Magouna the Rose capital and  the road of the thousand Kasbahs and Skoura then we will reach Ouarzazate “Hollywood of Africa ” where they shoot many big movies like Hidalgo , Sahara, Game of Thrones  etc… after that we will drive to visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah The world heritage site , after lunch we will drive to Marrakech through the high atlas Mountains
